Hybrid Golf Clubs

The 1, 2, 3, and 4-iron are no longer popular they are pretty much dead. The word “hybrid” isn’t only used in the car industry these days .The golf industry’s hybrid is a relatively new club that is a cross between a fairway wood (or metal) and a long iron. I have had a few hybrid clubs and I have settled with a 21-degree steel shafted Cleveland Halo Hybrid. It is a great club. It is probably the most versatile club in my bag. I use it for short shots off the tee, can hit it from the middle of the fairway or in the rough and I actually use it at times to chip. It does it all! It is extremely easy to hit (especially compared to typical long irons), looks good, and is really pretty inexpensive in golf terms. About the only negative is its look, it is an odd looking club compared to the normal iron. However these days a lot of PGA players have the hybrids in their bags. Golf can be a tough game and if you don’t have the right equipment in your bag don’t expect to get any better. The “short game” has always been a place that golfers tend to lose the most strokes, but there is another area that has consistently causing problems as well. The long irons long irons are tough to hit even for the pros and especially for the amateurs they have a hard time controlling their 3 and 4 irons and don’t even think about carrying a 2 iron. The majority of us struggle on longer par 3’s or long approach shots on par 4’s. Hybrid Golf Clubs were first introduced in the late 1990’s but didn’t become popular in the United States until recently. Now almost everyone I play with has at least 1 hybrid or utility club in their bag and they seem to really speak highly of it.
